A big thanks to those sponsors that helped us spread the word about our Maker Startup Weekend:
Indiegogo is one of the most popular crowd funding platforms in the market today. Having launched in 2008, Indiegogo has exploded in success, and most notably partnered with President Barack Obama’s Startup America campaign to offer crowdfunding to entrepreneurs in the U.S. Indiegogo has become a leader in crowd funding not just in the US, but around the world, as Indiegogo seeks to democratizing the way ideas get funded. To the team at Indiegogo, the future can be determined by many, not by a select few. We are grateful for the outreach Indiegogo did, spreading the word about the event and bringing in participants for our Startup Weekend.
Similar to the bootcamp style of Highway1, the Hackbright Academy Software Engineering Fellowship for women is an intensive training program designed to help women become software programmers. The founders of Hackbright realized the industry of software engineers contained not enough women. The Hackbright Academy was the solution to equalize this imbalance. Hackbright joins Maker Startup Weekend as a sponsor, spreading the word, bringing more women into the hardware space.
